Welcome to Missouri Doodles. We are located on 70 acres in the beautiful rolling hills of North East Missouri. Come on in and look around at our Doodles. Visit our puppies in the Nursery.
Missouri Doodles breeds superior miniature to medium Labradoodles and Goldendoodles, adhering to stringent ethical standards. We believe that breeders should ensure that their adults are healthy and meet minimum genetic standards. Once you adopt a puppy from us, we are here for you throughout your pet's life. Goldendoodles and Labradoodles were originally bred as assistance dogs in Australia. These dogs are hybrid dogs, originally produced by cross-breeding a poodle and a Golden Retriever (Goldendoodle) or a Labrador Retriever (Labradoodle).
Doodles maintain the personality of the retriever and the coat characteristics of the poodle, usually non-shedding and low allergy. The amount of shedding is dictated by the generation of the puppy. Here at Spur J, we breed mostly F1b puppies. That is, we breed a Labradoodle or Goldendoodle with a miniature poodle. This is called “back breeding” and sharply increases the non-shed and low allergy characteristics in the puppies. We also had our first F2b Goldendoodle litter in March 2007. Meet our dogs, see pictures and find out about puppy availability through the 'Doodles link on the left. One of our dogs has convinced his owner to write a blog about him. His name is Brun and you can read his blog site at Living with a Labradoodle blog. One of our F2b mini Goldendoodles was initially accepted into the service dog training program with C.H.A.M.P. Assistance Dogs in St. Louis. He did not successfully complete the program, so we hope that C.H.A.M.P. will accept another Missouri Doodles' puppy in the future. You can read more about C.H.A.M.P. on their website: C.H.A.M.P. Dogs and in a March 2007 St. Louis Post Dispatch article: C.H.A.M.P. article. Missouri Doodles publishes a newsletter each quarter. Our current families and everyone on our waiting list receive the newsletter via email. If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter send a request to: info@missouridoodles.com
