on our 70 acre family farm in North East
Missouri. We've dubbed our home "Spur J
Estates" and have lived here since 2001. My
parents live on the farm full-time while my
youngest daughter & I commute weekly to St.
Louis. I had an assistance dog named Teddi Bear because she looked like a little stuffed teddy bear when she was only eight weeks old. She helped me navigate stairs, pick up things, move faster and carry items among many other tasks. Almost a year ago she tore a knee ligament and had a surgical knee reconstruction. As a result of her injury, she began working part-time and would need to retire in a year or so. I had been looking for a new puppy for a few years and discovered the Goldendoodles. All of us fell in love with the breed and decided to begin raising Goldendoodles and Labradoodles. After another year of research, we began building our facility and looking for dogs. I found Lila in May 2005 and began training her. Since then Lila has made it clear that she wants to be my companion and not an assistance dog. So I chose one of our puppies in 2007 and named her Sierra. In March 2008 Teddi Bear passed away, then in July Sierra disappeared. In December 2008, I selected another of our pups and named her Zoe. I have three daughters:
Mandy is in high school. Nicki is in the Missouri National Guard Army. And Jessi is married, has a son and lives in Texas.
